Shining a Natural light as the Echoes of Violence appears

ECHOES OF VIOLENCE

(CRIME, DRAME, THRILLER)

WRITTEN & DIRECTED BY NICHOLAS WOODS

STARRING: HESTON HORWIN, MICHAELLA RUSSELL, CHASE CARGILL, AND FRANK OZ

SYNOPSIS:
An immigrant travels from Sedona to Los Angeles to seek revenge against the immigration lawyer who ruined her life.

WHAT THIS MOVIE DOES WELL: This movie doesn't waste time fucking around. Almost from moment one, if not 5 minutes in you are thrust into the action and while it has an air of mystery and suspense the real difference is that we see a lot more of the character-building through what we are witnessing as we are witnessing it. You will get backstory and you will get context but truly this movie treats you like you are smart to put 2 and 2 together rather than add it up for you, which I personally appreciate. Nicholas Woods has a style that is really clean in that the cuts and the shots are meticulous and they really smoothly transition in a natural way that you might even think, was there even a cut? Speaking of natural, the use of it around the desert scenes especially really gives you a sense of bearing and Woods really uses it to enhance the narrative.

WHY YOU SHOULD CHAMPION THIS MOVIE: Echoes of Violence is smart and uses action in a manner that really enhances not steals or distracts from the narrative. In a world of Franchise action films that squeeze more and more of the substance away in lieu of more car chases or outlandish stunts that bear no meaning to plot or presence, Echoes of Violence treats you like a grown up. A grown up that likes action and chase movies that make sense and have a plot.

YOU MIGHT LIKE THIS MOVIE IF YOU LIKED ... Baby Driver, Reservoir Dogs, and The French Connection
