WHAT THIS ALBUM DOES WELL: Right from the start with "When you Were Born (You've Should Have Died)" you are transported to that moment at the local club show as the band's instruments hum and tune in, where you need to decide if you are going to be dancing in the pit or let the pit swallow you. It's one of those split second decisions you can't make a 2nd time or choose a different choice. Once you are in, you are in and there is nothing more you can do about it. What this trio does from there is hook you in with clever hardcore salvos, blistering riffs, and strong temo changes that never lose an edge but still seem different than the song before it. It's one of the super powers and rarity for a band like this, when you usually get 35 minutes of cardio that won't let you stop going, but what Liquids does is infuse great moments to pause and get ready for the next song, incorporating intros with drum beats and rhythms like on "More than afriend". The other thing you might feel often happens with bands like this and the studio albums produced, they go one of 2 ways, way overproduced wherein pop, ska, and punk infuse to an almost insulting manner or where you just get the reverb, mistakes and/or happy accidents that make an underground coolness factor swell but for the poser hipsters while it makes the rest of us make our ears bleed. Life is Pain Idiots is well mixed, well thought out, and still strong and loud as it can be. This is a band that has a grasp on how to make an album sound like one of their shows would and yet still feel like its an absolute clean studio recording. 27 songs and they all do something different musically but how they make you feel and how they just make you want to dance around or move even if you are laying in your bed or sitting down to listen to it is all the same for all 27 tracks. You'll hear about this album again from me soon in my Top 10 list of 2021.

WHY YOU NEED TO CHAMPION THIS ALBUM: If this doesn't make a body part move within the first few moments of listening, you need to check your pulse and make sure you aren't dead. Look Punk Rock/Hardcore can be polarizing at best but what this album does is really give you that strong "who is playing on the loud speaker" in the record store vibes. If you didn't know this music from before you might just surprise yourself on how much you might actually like it. If you are a fan from a lost era of Punk Rock Hardcore times you might just swear you have heard it before but can't remember the band or the title of song or album. This is a great work out companion, getting the blood flowing, and/or background house party album.
