This review is LONG overdue. Although I’ve enjoyed Manutebol’s EP from 2020 ever since its release, this full-length album takes that Spanish indie rock vibe and takes it a bit more full circle. Again, something curious that a lot of Latin Rock bands get wrong is the drums and once again, I’m happy to report that the drums here are intact and all of the instrument's shine. Curious, random, fun, and definitely distinctive in arrangements and of course vocals.

Beyond being sung in Spanish, Manu’s vocals are super distinct in terms of tone, approach, and phrasing. Guitars are dreamy and many of the songs are mid-tempo rockers that I suspect can build up a lot more in a live setting and occasionally the solos remind me of the poppier songs from The Cure. Another interesting aspect is that quite often, there are instruments that pop into songs or as intros that definitely surprise (The harpsichord into on “Fue Otra Vida” stands out for sure).

As always, I’m always interested in expanding my horizons and I’m happy to report that if you want to practice your Spanish, this is a great indie choice for sure.
